Rekord Watch-Making Company Ltd. originated in 1993 when Petrosov family launched their watch business in Moscow.
Main activities that time laid in production of bespoke watches ordered by Russian state and commercial organizations.
With the project progressing successfully the idea of amplifying it by creation of the Company’s own brands became workable over some years time.
Thus in 1999 the rights for Rekord and SOYUZ trademarks were acquired. It was concluded to develop several collections under Rekord name for the markets of Russia and other ex-Soviet Republics. Thereby Rekord became an umbrella brand incorporating five collections, each with its own philosophy, market positioning in various price segments and targeting at dissimilar customer groups. The main stress was made on the two series of mechanical watches including those with complicated features.
In their activities the Petrosov brothers have always placed greatest emphasis on gathering strong team of professionals in watch field. They did prove right. Owing to the competent and correct decisions, creativity of talented team members, denial of any compromises with respect to quality the Company gained the success few can match. By the end of 2003 Rekord brand name already took a lead among Russian brand names in terms of sales volume. Since then Rekord has firmly been holding its market position continuing to develop salient success at present.
In the spirit of further development strategy the Company intends to manufacture unusual and original timepieces, both regarding design and features.
Rekord Watch-Making Company Ltd. is in constant quest of new market opportunities. After thorough consideration, market analysis and pilot sales in European and American markets in 2004-2005 a decision of full-scale development of a new SOYUZ Premium project was taken. Not only SOYUZ Premium, counting more than seventy models, are prestigious mechanical watches with complicated functions but also they represent a historical saga which takes back to 1940s. That time Joseph Stalin ordered the production of watches under SOYUZ brand name at a secret armory near Moscow. SOYUZ was not for sale being reserved for lords of the country and the world as a distinction. It was SOYUZ that accompanied Soviet leaders in the grand events of the 20th century. Nowadays SOYUZ watches faithfully tell their story to you as well.
It is not typical of Rekord Company to halt at what has been achieved by far. The Company is defiantly and confidently looking into the future foreseeing it at present. Like no other Rekord Company understands and fulfills its clients’ requirements and wishes which is firm grounds for its success both today and in the future.
